About Us
Hello! I'm Marilyn Richards, the founder and owner of Echo Tango Sierra (ETS). I wear multiple hats as an Author, Speaker, Vlogger/Blogger, and Career Coach. My specialization lies in delivering personalized career services to transitioning military service members. I also provide a wealth of valuable resources and information to enhance the overall wellness and quality of life for military service members as they navigate their post-service journey.
The inception of Echo Tango Sierra, LLC was driven by my deep-rooted passion for supporting military members in their transition to civilian life. I've personally experienced the challenges of separating from the military twice, and I recognized a pressing need for a comprehensive and personalized support system to ensure a smooth and successful transition for our veterans.
I've been there myself, wondering what to do with all the information from TAPS class, how to write a resume, or how to translate military jargon into civilian terms. These were challenges I faced when leaving the military, and I understand firsthand the confusion and uncertainty that can come with it. Years ago, I navigated this path alone when transitioning in 2005, and I eventually found myself working as a contractor on an Air Force Installation, setting the stage for my journey working for the government. With over 20 years of experience in federal contracting and federal employment, I've helped service members transition into their next career chapter, regardless of the industry.
My primary mission is to assist individuals in effectively translating their military skills and experiences into the civilian job market. This, in turn, helps them secure meaningful employment opportunities while also fostering their personal development and well-being.
I served honorably in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. My personal challenges during my transition journey have given me unique insights into the hurdles faced by military personnel as they enter civilian life. I understand the importance of showcasing military skills and achievements in a way that resonates with potential employers. To address this, I offer tailored resume writing services that emphasize transferable skills acquired during military service and present them in a format that aligns with industry standards.
In addition to resume writing, ETS provides job coaching services. This includes one-on-one guidance and support to help transitioning military service members navigate the job search process. Job coaching encompasses everything from developing effective job search strategies to optimizing online profiles, conducting mock interviews, and providing feedback to enhance interview performance.
I recognize that each individual's journey is unique, and that's why I take a personalized approach. I work closely with each client to understand their background, skills, and aspirations. This allows me to tailor my services to ensure transitioning military service members receive the customized support and guidance they need to succeed in their career transition.
My target market primarily comprises enlisted personnel aged 21-35, individuals who, like me, chose to transition after 4, 5, 6, or 10 years of service instead of pursuing a long-term military career. However, I am equally equipped to assist 20-year career service members. Regardless of your duration of service, ETS is here to provide personalized guidance and support. Ultimately, ETS is dedicated to empowering transitioning military service members. Through personalized resume writing and job coaching services, I assist individuals in making a seamless and successful transition into the civilian workforce.
I firmly believe that every transitioning service member possesses untapped potential. My mission is to unlock that potential and elevate success in the civilian workforce. As your trusted guide, I offer personalized career guidance, comprehensive mental health support, and transformative personal development resources. I go beyond traditional transition programs, providing tailored strategies to bridge the gap between military experience and civilian opportunities.
With Echo Tango Sierra by your side, you'll gain the confidence, skills, and resources needed to thrive in your post-military career. Together, let's unlock your potential and elevate your success in the civilian world.
Deep Personal Connection
Echo Tango Sierra is not just a business; it’s a mission rooted deeply in my personal and family history. I was raised by two incredible fathers who served our country. My biological father, a Vietnam veteran, faced hostility and was unfairly labeled a "baby killer" due to societal ignorance and misleading media portrayals. My stepdad, Bruce, served as a Lt. Col in the USAFR, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to our nation. Their resilience and unwavering commitment to family, faith, patriotism, and values have shaped who I am and inspire the work I do every day
